Journals

Part of your grade is based on your culture and ecology journals. Usually there should be an entry for every day, but this is not always possible. When you are watching elephants all day you might not see much culture and vice versa. But the problem exists because often the journals are sketchy and incomplete. Students will wait until the end of the day to write their journals relying solely on their memory. This does not work very well.

Carry a small notepad and jot down ideas, observations, animals, etc. Then when you start writing in your journal you will remember what you saw that day. Further, and most important, what you write about will be organized and coherent. This technique is proven and works well.
